Ghprobe

Ahead of the broadcast of the full documentary of GhProbe’s investigations into the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination on Monday, September 8, 2025, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has responded to the initial report aired by Joy News detailing the systemic examination malpractice perpetrated by some staff of GES.

The investigations, led by investigative journalist, Francisca Enchill, exposed a well-planned cheating mechanism my some senior staff of the GES such as examination supervisors and deputies, head teachers, invigilators, teachers and – in some instances – School Improvement Support Officers who were supposed to rather ensure that the rules governing the BECE, organized by the West African Examinations Council, are strictly adhered to.

In a statement dated September 7, 2025 and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, GES, the GES revealed that a full-scale investigation would be conducted into the findings of GhProbe and any “official of the service – teaching or non-teaching, found to have been involved in aiding or abetting cheating, if found guilty, will face severe disciplinary action.”
